Great for Sourdoughs
I like to bake sourdough so my comments are biased. This size works great for the average 3 cups of flour, 100 grams starter recipe. The lid fits well so you get a good steam resulting in a nice crust. As the picture shows, it’s not enameled on the inside and cleanup can require a bit of elbow grease. But when you are baking at 500 degrees you can expect some stubborn stains. Some say it’s a black enamel, but it’s not smooth like an enamel coating.I’ll wager it would work great for stews, etc., if you make smaller recipes.

Great alternative for Staub DO
I love Staub cast iron DO for the lid design and black enamel but their stuffs are too pricey and too large for making one-person meals. When I see this brand has the 1.5 qt at a wonderful price I know I have to get it, and thank goodness I did because the one I bought might actually be the last small one in stock.I don't own any Staub to compare but this Sulives's CI DO just so perfect for my needs and budget. It is just the right size, very well-made, non-stick, and easy to clean. I absolutely love the lid design, the food cooked pretty quickly in it. I notice there is some steam escaped while boiling, but tbh I don't find it a bother at all (I sometimes have to lift the lid up a bit for the liquid to evaporate). Also I think the enameled CI can keep food longer in the refrigerator since it retains temperature. Now I am still unsure what the inside is (some ppl said it's coated, some ppl says it's just cast iron). I haven't really season this properly and have used it to store stew for several days in the fridge, but I haven't noticed any iron taste nor see any rust forming yet. So I guess it is coated then?
I love Dutch ovens, have several, and use them pretty much daily. Cooking in this large family of 7 is my job, so I try to find excellent yet affordable cooking utensils. Well, this is certainly one of them. This one is coated with a black enamel on the inside, not smooth like some of the other ones I own, but transfers heat very well. Needs a little more scrubbing but well worth it in the end. Love the cover, which is very much like higher end Dutch ovens and returns condensation right back into the food. Seems to withstand splattering well. All in all, a great value, will probably buy others of this brand when the time comes.

My Staub knock-off
I,ve always wanted a Staub Cocotte to add to my collection, but like the Le Creuset, I couldn’t justify the steep price when there are so many cheaper alternatives that are very good. Now, I have this excellent Staub knock-off. I showed my brother, who has several Staub pieces, and even he had to admit to the beauty of my new SULIVES. It performs great also! I braised some lamb shanks in red wine and they came out delicious! Clean up was no effort at all. Five stars all around!
Love this dutch oven!!!
Love this Dutch oven!!! Can't say enough good things about it! Even the color is stellar! I have been using it almost every week since purchasing it. I've made a great adirondack plinking stew in it several times now and am amazed at how tender the meat turns out. You can braise and slow cook in one pan. Today I made venison/elk chili and again it's done fantastic work turning everything into a tender love story in each spoonful! Highly recommend!
Very versatile product, looks great and makes great bread. Good value and well worth the cost. I have used this product a few times with great and consistent results.
Great size and beautiful color. I love it
I have used almost every days since it delivered. I roasted a pork roast, chili, and large batch of pasta sauce. The food turned out very delicious. Cleaning up is also quick and easy. Only downsize is very heavy. But other than that, it’s a kitchen must have. I can’t cook without it now.
