Excellent Camera for an Excellent Price

First off: I initially reviewed this camera and took one star away because of an issue I found with the power cord being angled the wrong way when plugged in (see picture I’ve uploaded.) After viewing other user’s pictures I’ve realized I had just used the wrong power connection point to plug the camera in. Not sure why there’s 2 different points to plug in the camera. One plug connection on the camera itself (this is the one I used) and one higher up on the actually body of the camera mount. I’ve edited the review to remove my comments about the design oversight with the power cord. This was my fault. That being said this camera is now easily a 5 star product. Please note: the pictures I’ve uploaded of the camera installed on the windshield show the power cord installed incorrectly. I’m leaving them up to show how the camera looks installed, but also to show how I’ve incorrectly installed the power cord on the left of the camera. Compare that to pictures from other users who have installed it correctly, higher up on the mount itself.Design and Ease of Use:Large touch screen which allows for super simple operation and toggling through menus and settings. Very simple and straightforward operation. The screen is capable of showing both cameras at once, or one or the other. Simply tapping on the screen allows you to toggle which camera is displaying on the screen. The only faults I can really think of is there’s no options to choose what info you want to display on the final video. My last camera gave me the option to choose whether speed, gps location, time, etc. displays on the output video. This camera just displays it without choice, although it is very subtle and doesn’t distract from the video. Also, there’s no option to change units from kph to mph. Again, not a big deal. Lastly, some of the wording and prompts in the menus suffer from pretty obvious Chinese to English translation. Bizarrely worded prompts or menu options are present here and there. But these are more just a quick laugh than anything.Front Camera:Excellent quality. Super wide angle. I’m not sure if I quite believe the 4K claim, but it’s far more than adequate for a dash cam. I’m more than happy with the quality of the front camera picture.Rear camera:The rear camera is high def. as well. Very straight forward and wide angle of view.Features:Dual cameras, 256 GB SD card capability, WiFi, plus a smart phone app. The app. is a lifesaver and makes this camera worth the money on its own. You can connect via wifi and instantly view and download videos and pictures directly to your phone or device. You can also get a live feed straight into your phone, and even control the camera right from your phone screen while connected to the camera.Setup and installation:The cameras themselves were easy to adhere to the windows and the power cords were pretty easy to run. Ease of running the power cords and properly hiding them will depend on your specific vehicle. But the nice part is they include a plastic trim removal tool. The directions definitely leave a lot to be desired. As with some of the wording and prompts during operation. The directions definitely suffer a bit from obvious Chinese to English translation. They’re easy enough to figure out with a little bit of head scratching but they could be better. It’s a dash cam, it’s not rocket science so that’s not the end of the world. My requirements for a dashcam were as follows: must be dual camera, must have an app that allows instant download straight to a smart phone, must be able to accept up to 256 GB SD card, and must be 4K. This meets all of those requirements and I would purchase again. Will report back on long term use.

4K Dash cam - Clear Video

I've been looking for a 4K dashcam, so when I saw this on Amazon, I bought it and installed it right away.Features:4K front camera at 25fps or 2.5K at 30fps. Weatherproof rear camera is 1080p at 25fps. Video has a wide dynamic range. Highlights aren't blown out like other dashcams I've owned. It supports up to 256GB memory card. Other features worth mentioning: Loop recording, emergency recording, parking monitor, built in GPS (you can see speed stat on the video and you can also track your drive on a map). It also has a built in WiFi in case you want to download the videos through WiFi.Mounting the dash cam is different from other dash cams I've used. This did not use a suction cup. Instead, it came with a double sided adhesive tape. You can either mount it directly to your windshield (more permanent) or you can attach a clear static sticker to the windshield and mount the dash cam to the static sticker. I did this and when I realized I wanted to move the dash cam to a different location, I was able to peel it off the windshield and attach it somewhere else with no issue.Overall I'm very happy with the Kingslim Dual Dash Cam D4. Small, unobtrusive, easy to install, clear and highly detailed video at 4K resolution. Menus and features and options are easy to access.

 Awesome features!

Kingslim has thought of everything with this dash camera. I drove around with it and I was upside down on my dash for about a week before I decided how I want to run the cables. The video is true 4K and extremely high quality coming from both lenses and the LCD screen is very nice as well. Setting up was a cake walk. Well I’m very impressed with the amount of cable that the company provides so that if you choose to do you have the option of warning wire under paneling to hide it. That’s my plan to mount it inside the center consul and then run the wire through the dash and up the side of the window panel. The other thing that’s great is they include multiple double-sided tap3. So if you end up mounting and not liking the positioning you put the camera you have the option to change it. They even include a plastic scraper to remove the double-sided tape if needed. For the second camera they also include screws if you’d like to screw it into the paneling as well as multiple double sided tape.Overall a great camera. You can’t be too careful with the way people drive today and I would imagine if you’re working for a ride sharing app this is a no brainer.I would absolutely buy again. I hope this was helpful.

Best dashcam I've ever had. Period.

This is absolutely the best dashcam I've ever used. I've gone through atleast 4 so far. This one has amazing video quality and is easy to navigate around. I love how the backup camera feed loads on the same screen. It was truly plug and play. I put the back camera on my back window and threaded the cord under all the car moulding. There was more than enough cord to reach the back of my GMC Acadia. The best part of the cam is its easy to see your videos. The screen is big enough to watch them play right on the screen. Next, we are going to get one for my husband's semi truck.

Every time you turn the car on the dash cam wants the storage card reformatted

Better Dash Camera at a much Better Price

I've had other dash cameras before, but this one stands FAR ABOVE the rest.My most recent dash cam before this was almost $200, not 4k capable, could only take memory cards up to 32 gb, and when the touch screen stopped working, the customer service was awful. (Momento M5; do not recommend at any momento products.)But this Kinglsim D4 dash cam beats others at every level. For $100, this dash cam is definitely worth it. I have it running 24/7, recording 4k front and 1080p rear with a 256 gb memory card in it. I have had absolutely no issues with it and I have had great success with accessing my footage from the app through wifi.**Small disclaimer about running it 24/7---> I have a pickup truck that I added a second battery to for auxiliary equipment just like this. I do not recommend running it with the ignition off if you only have one battery. It will surely leave you with a dead battery and no video footage next time that you start it up.**

 Well made dashcam

Overall, it is a great dashcam to have on the vehicle. I love how easy it is to install the dash cam since they provided detailed but easy-followed instructions. The captured video is high quality and smooth. And there is also a phone app allows you to connect with your phone easily. In all, I recommend this cam to every driver

 Doesn't Catch License Plates

No matter if its bright and sunny or night time the picture quality is no where near 4k maybe 360P. I have very bright lights so the night vision isn't terrible but you definitely can not read license plates. Customer service seems bothered that you even ask anything so they were pretty useless. I wanted a hard wire where it would turn on upon starting my vehicle and they declined. much better products out there for the same price, the rear camera is a joke. The app is ridiculously slow and laggy. SAVE your money
